Red Book

Red tells the compelling story of modern slavery through the lenses of ace photographer Danielle Valimont. Red is a visual expression of the city of Mumbai, the financial capital of India, home to Bollywood but sadly a city which has one of the largest red light districts in the world.

The book is aptly titled “RED”. The color red the single most dynamic color in the spectrum, imbuing a sense of warmth, vitality, and urgency. The most passionate color, symbolizing love, rage and courage. Red demands attention and has a deep emotional impact. We chose RED as the title of the book because we are part of a worldwide revolution. We are raising our voices. We are “seeing red” as the expression goes. The buying and selling of human beings is a travesty, blight on mankind. Good people cannot stand in silence, while victims are enticed, kidnapped or deceived only to be abused, traumatized and victimized. Through the pages of this book our hope us to give a tiny glimpse into one city of contrasts where beauty and danger co-exist.

Red will make a great coffee-table book for your living room or a gift for a friend or family.
