National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
 – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. We invite you to join us in remembering those trapped in modern slavery – they matter.

Beginning in 2010, by presidential declaration, this month was set aside to focus on the prevention of human trafficking. That same year YouCanFreeUs joined the fight to end modern slavery. We began with rescuing and rehabilitating young women from human trafficking and providing awareness about this massive humanitarian problem.

YouCanFreeUs has created an awareness and educational tool through our learning resource on modern slavery called Libertas. The interactive chapters in Libertas are designed to equip young people worldwide with essential facts and tips to guard them against becoming victims and encourage them to take a stand. We hope to educate young people, parents, instructors, and youth workers about modern slavery through this book. Soon this book will be converted into videos.
