YouCanFreeUs has three safe houses with a capacity of housing 12 girls in each safe house.

Each safe house consists of three bedrooms, three bathrooms, one living room, one garden, an open lounge and a play area.

We also have a dedicated training center with classrooms, multimedia facilities, a counseling room, boardroom, computer workstations, lounge, vocational training area, study area and bus transport facilities.

Education

The beneficiaries at YouCanFreeUs are mostly illiterate and school dropouts. At YouCanFreeUs the girls are encouraged to complete basic literacy education and enroll for 10th grade exams through National Institute for Open Schooling (NIOS).

Since 2014, eight girls have passed their 10th grade board exams and have enrolled in the 12th grade. Six girls have passed their 12th grade board exams and enrolled in professional courses like Nursing, B.Com, BA and MSW. In addition, we offer Spoken English and computer instruction to the beneficiaries.

Therapy & Counseling

The types of physical and psychological abuse human trafficking victims experience often lead to serious mental or emotional health consequences including feelings of severe guilt, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, substance abuse (alcohol or narcotics), and eating disorders.

Victims of trafficking often need psychological care as part of comprehensive medical treatment. To balance both mental and physical health, we provide them medical examinations and treatment, counseling, group therapy, art therapy, etc.

Life Skills Coaching

YouCanFreeUs is dedicated to providing these survivors life skills coaching with the tools they need to overcome their past and create a better future. Some of the life skills include self-awareness, self-motivation, healthy emotions and expressive art therapy.

Outdoor Activities

Having lost their childhood, these survivors have never experienced going out with family or friends. Outdoor trips facilitate healing to our survivors. YouCanFreeUs organizes picnics, retreats, educational trips, trekking, forest camping, nature walking, campfire, and other outdoor activities.

Vocational Training

Most of the girls like to get involved in stitching and sewing. Considering their interests, we have established in-house tailoring training for all the girls who want to receive training.

We use art and painting as a therapeutic activity for the girls. A few of the girls have excelled in painting and have made Warli paintings, and have painted mugs and bags, etc.

YouCanFreeUs initiated jewelry art and design training, and the girls have gone beyond our expectations with their creativity.

Professional Courses

Five girls completed a hotel management course at Four Seasons, Westin and other well-known hotels. Some are now working at Westin, Leela, Hyatt, etc. One of the girls always dreamt of being a chef and is now an assistant chef to the top chef at Westin.

Her success has inspired many of our girls to pursue hotel management. Twelve girls are currently being trained in Retail Marketing Sales, one is pursuing a Nursing degree, and two girls are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
