YouCanFreeUs has been very busy these first few months of 2024. Today, we are celebrating new life and new beginnings – we just welcomed a young girl into our care, and one of our beneficiaries gave birth to a precious baby girl.

Our year is off to an incredible start!

This new mother was showered with love and support by YouCanFreeUs friends and staff as she began her journey of motherhood.
Baby showers are very special at YouCanFreeUs. At times, the women that join our program come to us pregnant.
Impregnated by a customer in the red-light district, the woman may consider the child she is carrying a burden to her and feel very disconnected from the baby. Often, her plan is to abort the child.
Years ago, we faced such a dilemma with a beneficiary who was determined to abort her child. We decided to give her a baby shower – a first at YouCanFreeUs. It was a beautiful celebration. This baby shower changed the mother’s mind, and she decided to keep her baby. The child is now a beautiful and healthy little girl. Since then, we have gone all-out in hosting baby showers because every life is sacred and precious.
Kolkata and Mumbai beneficiaries celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th with a special dinner and were honored and encouraged by our staff.
We opened a new beauty salon at the Udaan Child Development Center in Bhiwandi, dedicated to providing our young girls with employable skills in the beauty industry.
Udaan held its second annual Sports Day. The day was filled with friendly competition by the children and a fun time was had by all!
